Goku Chalice Coral Care Guide

1. Lighting:

• Prefers low to moderate light (PAR 50-150).

• Too much light can cause bleaching, so acclimate it slowly to your tank’s lighting.

2. Flow:

• Moderate water flow is best.

• Avoid direct, strong currents as they can damage the coral’s delicate tissue.

3. Placement:

• Place in the middle to lower regions of the tank, depending on lighting.

• Ensure space around it since chalice corals have sweeper tentacles that extend at night.

4. Water Parameters:

• Temperature: 76-80°F (24-27°C)

• Salinity: 1.025 SG

• pH: 8.1-8.4

• Alkalinity: 8-12 dKH

• Calcium: 400-450 ppm

• Magnesium: 1200-1400 ppm

• Nitrates: <10 ppm

• Phosphates: <0.03 ppm

5. Feeding:

• Feeds at night with extended tentacles.

• Offer zooplankton, meaty foods like mysis shrimp, and coral-specific foods (twice a week).

• Also benefits from amino acids and reef supplements.

6. Growth & Aggression:

• Grows in an encrusting or plating pattern.

• Has aggressive sweeper tentacles, so keep it away from other corals.
