Seachem Prime neutralises chlorine and chloramines in your tank and ammonia formed as a by-product. While this happens with all de-chlorinators Prime has a unique benefit. Seachem Prime neutralises the ammonia but crucially leaves it available for the tank bacteria to digest.

Tap water contains any number of highly toxic heavy metals which Prime detoxifies and leaves completely safe. Seachem Prime is also non-acidic and will not change the pH level in the tank.

When used during water changes on established tanks the unique formula of Seachem Prime also helps the reducing of nitrate levels. Nitrate is a common problem in older tanks and increasingly a problem in some water areas, even for new systems.
